Schweizerische Bundesbahnen (SBB)

SBB is the backbone of the Swiss public transport system. Day after day, night after night, it creates links between the countryside, towns and cantons. With its fleet of modern, fast trains and its cooperation with various partner networks, SBB offers climate-friendly journeys to many European cities every day. There are direct train connections to ten countries from Switzerland. Fast, regular connections are available, particularly to neighbouring countries. The TGV Lyria only needs 3 to 4 hours to reach Paris directly from Geneva, Lausanne, Basel and Zurich. In cooperation with DB, SBB also offers more than 40 direct connections from Bern, Basel, Chur, Interlaken and Zurich to Germany's major cities. ÖBB Railjets run several times a day from Zurich to Innsbruck, Salzburg or Vienna. The Transalpine EuroCity also serves the Austrian city of Graz. Italy is also easily accessible by train from Switzerland, with regular services to Milan, Venice, Genoa and Bologna. Offering a demand-driven service day and night, SBB is developing its connections with cities in neighbouring countries in a targeted manner, working hand in hand with its partner networks.
